Prof. Switzer lias charge of a small but highly appreciative class in German . They meet two evenings in each week, have good limes and are making rapid progress in their pursuit of knowledge. George Chappell and Frank Timmons left for Florida this (Monday) ' morning. The venerable William Tharp attained his eighty third birthday last Friday and his good wife prepared a pleasant surprise for him by getting up j a sumptuous dinner and inviting in a number of friends, neighbors and rel- j aiives to help them celebrate. The puip t of tiie M. E. church was ( occupied last Sunday by Rev, Me Kinsie. or Monti-ello, who is a very forcible and logical speaker. By the way: it is said that although the popular young pastor of this charge is not | selfishly sectarian, still he is very devoted to the Cm irin ot his choice.
