Preparing for Next Fire.

A public meeting was held at the Court House last Tuesday evening, at which committees were appointed to draft and circulate petitions, among the tax payers, asking the Town Council to build two large cisterns on' YY ashington street, convenient to the business part of the town, and to pass an ordinance requiring every property owner, in town, to keep two buckets constantly on hand, and two ladders, one tall enough to reach the roof of his house, and the other to reach the eaves. All the propositions are excellent and should be carried out.
