The Prohibition Convention.
The Jasper county prohibitionists held their convention at the court house last Saturday afternoon. The attendance could not be fairly called largo, and among those present was a large proportion of mere spectators. A con-; --.’derable number of ladies were present and seme of them took a more or less active part in the proceedings. Elder I). T. Halstead called the convention to order and presided oyer its deliberations. A county central committee was appointed and was made up as follows': Chairman. Sampson Erwin: Secretary, S. K. Yeoman; Committee men, James Yeoman, N. Warner, A. G. W. Farmer, George Kessler. Nelson Randle. 'lhGiuas.Robinson. R. I>. Grow. Sj Ives er <’ Me;.ra. Henry Hamer; John Irewis. And as a committee of conierenee from the'A. C. T. U. the following ladies were appointed: Mrs. Dr. Deming, Mrs. Healey, Mrs. Joseph Clark. A series of resolutions were prepared by a committee consisting oi James Yeoman, Norman Warner, and John Lewis, and fvere adopted-by the convention. Gen. W. F.
