Indiana State Fair.

Early indications regarding the busi-. ness of the State Fair for this season are flattering,'anil in connection with the bountiful crops give assurance to the management that it will be better than ever. The Fair will commence on Monday, SdplembCr ?9lh. The entry books, except in the speed ring, tfill elose the Saturday previous. All stock and articles must be in, place on Monday afternoon, the first day. Experience has demonstrated the importance of promptness and early preparation. Special attractions will be provided to make each day equally interesting. It will be a strictly agricultural fair and farmers’ festival.

Tuesday pt the fair will be Indiana School Children’s day; free tickets issued for that purpose. No fees for exhibits, but every convenience for exhibitors and the comforts ot visitors. Merit alone governs awards. Premiums have always been paid in full. More improvements ordered to provide for the increased show in the live stock department. It, is Estimated that $l- - of m'achinerj’ arid $1,51)0,01)0 of live stock will be on exhibition. The amount of business by sales amounts to millions, and the amount of money put in general circulation oy the fair is estimated at $500,000. It is an acknowledged fact that any intelligent person may leach more by attending the state fair, as to improvement in live stock and machinery, arid progressive agriculture, than by riionths of travel forthat purpose. The railroads entering the capital city will, as usual, carry passengers at half rate, and return all exhibition stock and articles free.
