An Indiana Ranch:
The largest farm intheUmted States, north of the Ohio and east of Illinois, is owned by Moses Fowler, of Lafayette, and is situate d in Benton county. It contains between 25,000 and 30,000 acres, every foot of which is under fence and cultivation. At current rates this farm is easily worth §1,000,000. It is the meat beautiful land out of doors. This year Mr. Fowler has over 10,000 acres of corn, which at present prospects will yield him forty bushels per acre, or 4,00.000 bushels, lie is now engaged in cutting his hay crop, estimated at 5,000 tons and covering 2,51>0 acres. The growing crops and stocks on this royal farm are worth $‘250,000. Mr I owlet makes a study of imported blooded stock. Last week he made a cash sale of $48,000 worth. A single herd of Herefords (and only one of his many herds) is worth $50,000'. This larm is oyer seven miles each' way, and away to the east of its improvements has an elevator attached to it. and telephones, so that the superintendent can give his orders from his house and don’t have to resort to the old-fashioned method of riding and delivering verbal passages and orders.
