COUNTY CORRESPONDENCE
REMING TON ITEMS. J. H. Allman was taken suddenly and seriously sick on Saturday evening last but is somewhat better at this writing, Monday afternoon. The handsome new farm house Albert J. Bellows is nearly completed and is said to be one of the handsomest in this part of the County. Mr. William Howard, a well known farmer and real estate dealer, living four miles northwest of Remington, was thrown from a runaway horse, last Friday and sustained severe injuries. Dr. Maxwell pronounces him badly bruised and shaken up but no bones broken. • ■
Quite a number oi young teachers and “would be' 1 teachers expect to attend the Institute at Rensselaer next week. The names of those who expect to conduct the work are a sufficient guarantee that it will be thoroughly done, and that much benefit will be desired from it.
Since our last letter was written another one of numerous candidates for the office oi County Treasurer paid Remington a vipit. The people of this place and vicinity were very favorably impressed with him. We refer to Edward Biggs, of Kankakee township. Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Graham visited Logansport last Friday, tor the purpose of consulting Dr. Shulty with regard to Mrs. Graham. We are pained to state that he regards her condition as somewhat serious. Mrs. Graham is a most excellent lady and her many friends hope for her ultimate recovery.
Rev. Worley B. Slutz.., of Lafaybtte, will assist Rev. it. Vance next Sabbath in conducting memorial, centennial services in the M. E. church at this place. A good time is anticipated. Remingtonian.
