The people of Northern Jasper are ‘-Up an J coming’' always, and it will be a cold year indeed when they forgot to celeb rata the ever glorious anniversary the Great American spread e.igie in an appropriate and enjoyable manner. This year their celebration will be held at DeMotto, in Keener towns..ip, under the auspices, and for the benefitof DeM -tte P >st, No. 328, G. A. R The people of Rose La.vn, and vicinity in Northern Newton, will join in and help out the DiMutte celebration. Tne programme for the day includes games, races, a glass ball shooting match, music by Pleasant Valley and Wheatfield choirs, a Camplire in the evening by the Post, the-works. and a bowery dance, beginning at 5 o’clock, p. m. The principal orator of the day will be Hon. M. L. DeMotto, of Valpi - raiso, who has positively promised to be on hand. Capt. M. F. Chilcote and W. L. Rude, Esq., of Rensselaer, and Rev. L. Shortridge and Capt. R. W. Marshall, of Keener township, are also on the bills for speeches, and will all be on hand, probably. The officers are; J. M. Helmick, president, Janies Casad, officer of the day, D. Love, officer of the guard, I. B. Bobbins, chorister, Geo. W. Peters, captain of artillery.
