From a Jasperite in Kansas.
Extract Iron a letter from C. M. Hopkins, formerly of Jasper county, now of Kingman, Kansas, dated April 10, 1884: , “ * * Wo are having plenty of rain here this sprihg, Kansas will have the largest wheat crop this year she ever had, it is now knee high, and as tiiick as it can stand. I saw the Hammonds and Piersons, a few days since.. They live 20 miles west of us, and we live 24 miles west ol Kingman, iii Pratt county. The immigration into Pratt county this spring is immense; for the past 4 weeks one could not look out without seeing the road lined with movers, going to Pratt. * * Jim Nichols wits bitten by a mad dog, last week, and although It did not draw blood, it left some of the froth from the mouth of the dog upon his hands, where ho had some sores, and he feels rather nervous over it.”
