The Central. Committee made a new departure in determining the manner of selecting delegates to the district conventions. A Primary Election
The .Republican County : Centra] Committee held an important meeting, at the office of tins paper, hast'Saturday afternoon. Choosing the manner and time for nominating a countyTieket, whs the mostj important at the meet- j ing. Til a general sentiment of flift nbmlrnittt^o.aeamed to be that ! the great _ majority of the republican voters of the. county favored a primary election, and that method was accordingly adopted. Thursday, August Mth, was feed upon as the most generally acceptable' time for holding the primary. In the matter of delegates and | alternates to the congressional, judicial and representative conventions, it was decided to divide the county into thirteen delegate districts, in sucli a manner as to give one delegate to each 100 Republican voters, or as near as might be conveniently'done. The time for choosing sucli delegates, will be uniform, throughout the county, and will be fixed by the ’ chairman of the central committee.
