THE MONON ROUTE.
Important Changes accompliahed and contemplated. Last Col. Bennett H. Young resigned the presidency of theL., N. A. & C. road and J. Roosevelt, of New York was Chosen to succeed him. The newly elected president will come Cast this week, it is said, and ef-' feet a general reorganization of the company. Although the future of thO road seems to be One of splendid possibilities, yet ft has had a deal of bad luck during the past year, and the losses from accidents together with the expenses necessary in opening the Air Line division have Caused the expenses to exceed the receipts by a large sum. A num • ber of high salaried offices are to be dispensed with, it is said, and the road conducted on a more economical basis generally. There is still much talk of a probable consolidation with the C., 1., St. L. & C. or “Big Fodr” line, and also of building an extension of the road from Indianapolis to Cincinnati. , «.• . The annual election of directors and officers takes place, in New York, on the 14th of February after which time the policy of the company in regard to possiple changes and extensions will be more clearly defined. The Rensselaer toller skate rink is open every Wednesday and Saturday at 7:30 o’clock, at the Opera House.
