the big iron bridge with a double driveway will not materialize, as the county commissioners decided last Saturday, to modify their previous plan and to erect a 'bridge with a single driveway. The change was made simply on the score of economy. A letter addressed to ''‘Santa Claus, Rensselaer, Indiana,” was put into the post-office at this place a few days since. The letter had'-not been delivered to the person addressed at last accounts nor is it at all likely that it will be, unless Santa’s eyes happen to light upon this notice, as he has never been known to get his mail at this office. There are a number of mossbacked old denizens of Nubbin Ridge, and “way back” places whose personal appearance bears a strong resemblance to Santa, Claus, occasionally seen upon our streets, and one of these has undoubtedly been mistaken for the jovial old saint. Few people are aware to what extent the fine looking candy (offered at prices less than good sugar costs) is adulterated. Now, as children do most of the candy eating, parents who are so careful of their little ones in other respects, cannot be too careful in this. Do not be influenced by low prices and cheap goods, it only costs a trifle more to buy pure unadulterated candy, right from the factory fresh every day, and then know that you will receive all the benefits of sugar without the evil effects arising from adulteration. Besides encourage home industry. We refer to Levino’s Candy factory, Rensselaer, Ind.
