GILLAM ITEMS

Hea th is generally good in this vicinity with the exception of a few cases. Mr. George Dunn is very sick with lung fever. Mrs. Henry Poisel is still on the sick list. Mrs. Phebe Deieims has gone on a visit to Ohio. e The teachers of Gillam met jointly with thb East Vernon school on Saturday last, and held their second session of Institute. Tne Institute was a success in every respect, each teacher preforming ptomptiy the duties which were assigned him. The Literary Soeiety at that place is progressing finely. Tiie exercises given Saturday eve. were very good. Died.—At his residence on Thursr day last, Dec., 6th, Mr. Geo. Mason. The fune-al services were held at the house on the 7th, conducted by Rev. McCoy. The remains were placed in the family cemetery on the farm.
