The cheapest postal service in the world is that of Japan, where letters are conveyed all over the Empire for 2 sen —abbut 7-10 of a penny. This is more wonderful considering the difficulties of transit over* a mountainous and lrroguular country which has less than 100 miles of railway, while wagons can only pass over a few* of the chief roads, and the steamers connect but a small number of coast stations. A burr means of overcoming a dislike which we entertain for unv one is to do him a little kindaess every day; and the way to overcome a dislike which another may feel toward you is to say some little kind word of him every day.
