It will be noticed

that pensioners are credited to tfie county in which their post-office is located, and consequently that a few persons mentioned above are really residents of other counties. Their number however will be more than counterbalanced by the number of Jasper county pensioners who obtain their mail at offices in ether counties, and whose names do not appear in the aboye list. In the eastern portion of the county, especially, nearly everybody get their mail at either San Pierre, Medaryville, Francesville or Lee. The list as published, represents the condition of facts as they appeared nearly a year ago, and is, of course, in some respects, at variance with the facts as they exist how. Some pensions have been increased, and others have been diminished. Some new names have been added to the list, and a number of those above mentioned have removed from the county, and some perhaps have died. Among those who are no longer residents of the county may be mentioned the names of Sam’l Hemphill, Milton L. Campbell, John T. Pritchard, Chas. A. Edmonds, John J. Claypool and George W. Norrjs. The list, as ijb appears above, contains the names ,pf 104 pensioners who drav, each month, an i aggregate sum of $926., being an average sum of $8.90 per month, for each pensioner. 82 of the aboye named persons are ex-sol-diers, 16 are soldier’s widows, 4 mothers and two are minor children of soldiers. Two of the widows, Sarah Grant and Delila Burns, are widows of soldiers of the war of 1812. • Among the names which might be added to the above list are Phillip Handy, of Barkley, who lately received arrearages to the amount of $2075; and a monthly rate of sl4. and M. D. Rhoades, of Rensselaer.
