DEMOTTE AND KEENER.

DeMotte is growing rapidly, and business lively. Several new buildings are well under way and will soon be eomple’ted. W. H, Cheever, has just moved in on the old De Weert place, he will run a blacksmith shop. GeOv Bennett is also building a blacksmith Bhop, both wifi spqp be running and will undoubtedly have plenty of work. C. W. McFall, the efficient, and accommodating ageqt of the I. I. & I. Ry,, reports business steadily improving- , Ireneus Shortrldge, is the next unlucky man, he.had four head of cattle killed, on the L. N. A. It C. Ry., one day last week. The railroad ought either to fence the road, or change their policy of paying only one half the value of stock killed. Robert Granger, of Wheatfield Ipi, who came very near losing his arm by an accidental gba shot, is doing well. The wound Yffts a bad one, his right elbow being Shot off, and all of the bones near the joint badly fractured. Dr. Antrim is justly proud of his success in this case. By the way, jt is time some good doctor was moving to DeMotte, to take Dr. Antrim’s practice, who having been elected to county office, will soon ledve us.
