Health is generally goos. Corn husking in full blast. W’eather changable and roads muddy. Hurrah, for the “taffy pullin”, wish we’d all been invited. The Rev. McCoy will preach at Independence. Chapel, next Sunday, at 3 p. m. Miss Mattie Faris and Mr. G. D. Pre vo, began school in Walker tp., on Monday last. Mr. Geo. Guild, formally of Keener tp., has moved on the old homestead. W e are glad to claim Mr. Guild as a citizen of our tp. once more. Married: —On Wednesday last, Mr. John Bishire to Miss Laura Baker. May peace and happiness ever attend them, is the wish of their many friends. The teachers of Gillam held their first Institute p,t Center school house on last Saturday. All had their sub j epts well prepared and a very interesting time was enjoyed by all. ' 3 - The two Misseg Hunts, of Indianapolis, paid a flying visit to their uncles, Mr. J. G. Hunts, last week. The two ladies are both teachers and expect to teach in Pulaski Co., this winter.
