The Moonshiners’ Whistle.

The moonshiners of the South have t little instrument with which they whi» tie to each other. It is made of copper .fiat ayd hollow, about an inch and t half wide and three inches long, with i kind of scroll at the end farthest frorr the mouth-piece. By placing the fingers at each end of' the scroll almost any kind of shrill whistle can be pro duced, which in the night may be hearc a mile away.
