FROM DEMOTTE

E. D. Fairchild is just iinisl/n; a fine new residence, of which the Squire and his charming family ought to fell proud of. Dan is making things lively with his saw miii, it runs so fast, hia only trouble is to get logs enough. DeMotte Is looking up, business lively. Two stores in full blast, a sawmill, a "feed mil), several wind-mills and gas factories, in full operation. Another store -and several new dwellings are being talked of. The school-marm muddle in the south part of the town, is still unsettled. Trustee Fairchild has already got a taste of hot water. Be careful Joe or it will get still hotter. I f you do know more than the County superintendent, about running schools, and examining teachers, don't let him find it out. He might feel bad. The Keener sportsmen have been having fine fishing at the Kankakee river,—never better. Water fowl are slow coming down this fall, shooting not very good yet.
