The comm.ssioners appointed a few weeks ago to report upon the damages and benefits resulting from narrowiug Van Rensselaer Street, fdet on the west side, met the Town Board, Tuesday night. Tho Board, after a stormy, session, lasting till midnight;, adopted' the roecomend f ation of the ccri? nissicners. and decided to narrow the street. We have not succeeded in obtaining a full synopsis of the commissioner's report and the ofder of the Town Board. Mr, McCoy’s benefits were assessed at $2 r >o, which sum ■was paid into the town treasury yesterday morning, and and work on the Van Rensselaer street side of tho new building was at once resumed. _ As Marshal Platt expresses it, the enemy have paid the war debt, and he has surrendered Fort McCoy into their" hands, and they are now engaged in fortifying-the place with a heavy breastwork of brick wall. He believes the fort will soon be too strong ever to fie recaptured. . T"
