Presiding,Elder Claypool will be present. An editor who has given tlie matter considerable thought, says: “Standing advertisements in a paper command confidence. The mail who for years resides in a community and lives a reputable life, even though he be of •moderate ability, will grow into confidence an ! esteem of his fellow.s On the same principle, newspaper advertisements be come familiar in in the eyes of the reader Tt may seldom be carefully read, still i. makes the name and business ot a man familiar, aud its continued presence in the columns of a paper inspires conli dence in the stability of the advertiser.' That is in exact harmony wi h the theoiy of an old Pittsburg firm, wh ch has kept the same identical advertisement in the columns of a Pittsburgh paper, for a period of twenty-sevon years.-^[E.x.
