A new boy at R. P. Benjamin’s this morning. One at Peter Hoy*, (lonian’s, Tuesday evenin g. —4—— If any of our readers wish to obtain a inighty good cyclopedia, or any other .good boohs, for that matter, for very little money, we advise them to jvi'ite to John B. Alden, 18 Vesey street, New York. We have, at one time.and another, sent Mr. Alden not less than fifty dollars for books, and always found him to be a square, prompt man to detil with; always aS good as his word, and sometimes a little better. Should any of our desire to inspect the cyclopedias which Mr. Alden handles, we advise them to call and look at the “Library of Universal Knowledge,” in Miss Osborne’s room, in the Rensselaer schools. A specimen volume of the same may be seen at tile Republican ollice. In conclusion, it is proper to add, that this notice is entirely voluntary_.upon our part, and Written without Mr. Alden’s knowledge or solicitation; and we should also add, that we have no interest whatever in reccommending Mr. Alden and his books, other t-han a desire to be service to our readers, and to speak a good word- for -a deseiving man.
