How to Secure Good Ventilation for a Bath-room.
A Eox bury (Mass), lady was recently the heroine of a a clever little coup d’etat. Finding the bath-room of the house she had rented had no %neans of ventilation, she applied to the city health authorities for a~s'stance. An inspector found the lady’s complaint well founded, and a notice was sent to the landlord requesting him to repair t> e defect. This bo provoked tiro landlord that he rushed into the bath-room
and declared there was no earthlyreason for the complaint. The lady explained that the lack of Ventilation was especially noticeable when the door of the bath-room was closed, so she slipped ont, closed the door and locked it, leaving the landlord inside, and stoutly refused, to unlock the door • until that irate person had acknowledged the sanitary defect, and solemnly promised to have it corrected forthwith. After being, imprisoned an hour, the landlord gave in, and now there is one more well-ventilated bath-room in Roxbury. —Boston Saturday Evening Gazette.
