De Motte at De Motte.

The patriotic people of Northern Jasper never fail to avail themselves of their glorious American privilege of having a big time on the Fourth of July. Thia year their celebration will be held at the new and lively town of De Motte on the 1.1. & L railroad in Keener to. The Hon. M. L. De Motte, or Valparaiso, the sponsor of the town, R. W. Marshall Esq., of Keener tp., and the Rev. J. Dunsing, of Wanatah, who will speak in German, are to be the orators of the occasion, W. L.Sharfner, of Wheatfield, is president of the day; Dr. Thomas Antrim, chairman of the committee of arrangments, and D. E. Fairchild, marshal. A basket picnic, an excursion on the 'I. I. <fe I. railroad, music, games, dancing &c. are among the attractions promised. ’ The Rev. and Mrs. J. J. Claypool request us to express to the ladies of the M. E. Church their grateful acknowledgements for an elegant pocket-book, with nineteen dollars and some cents inclosed, which was presented to Mrs. Claypool last week.
