There was a good attendance, and a deep interest was manifested by sdl, befitting the solemn occasion tfivo of our well known citizens united with the church at time, by certificate, and the prospects of this congregation are brightening, under-a disposition to unite their forces for more effective work in jjhe cause of the Lord & Master. - —< • Railroad changes. —Last Monday the L. N-A. & C. railway trains began running over their own track from the Pan Handle crossing, a few miles north of Dyer, to the terminus of the Chicago, and "Western Ind. The new route runs through the town of Hammond. On the same day all the roads entering the city over the Western Indiana, of which the L: N-A & 0. is one, began using their new depot on Taylor st., several blocks nearer the' center of the city than the former depot. These changes have resulted in some fresh alterations of the time table,as will be seen by reference to the same. Having in my employ a Baker of many years experience, I will after this week, do all kinds of baking; Such as Pan Bread, Milk Thread, Bottom or Hearth Bread, Vienna Bread, jand English Bread. Also Buns, Rusks, Tea Holies, and all kinds of cakes. Ornamental cake work, a specialty. Look out for the very lowest of prices. Parties wishing any kind f baking, will be supplied at low figures, by H. M. Purcupile. Restaurateur & Baker. ■— »B— ll Cheaper than staying at home. —In addition to the somewhat less than half fare rate tickets sold every Tuesday, and Wednesday, the L., N-A. & C. railway, will next Saturday run an excurvu train to. Chicago, at the extremely low rate of $1.50 from ilensselaer to Chicago, and return. The tickets will be good to Return until the morning of the following : ‘ onday. This will be a splendid opportunity for taking the young folks to see Barnum’s big show, with Ins world famous elephant 1 Jumbo; The great Exposition of Railway Appliances, and other marvels of the Metropolis of The West.
