FROM GILLAM.
Gillam is still alive and every thing is flourshing. The farmers are busily engaged putting out their spring crops Many have begun planting corn. The measles have subsided and mumps have taken there place. Their is but one caso at present; hope they may not get scattered. Weather pleasant and’roads splendid. The top buggies have began to make their appearance. Mr. Stafford, the organ agent is having very good success selling his organs. He has already made sale of five, and there are prospects for the sale of more. Several of the young folks spent the evening at Mr. Conard’s lately playing croquet. All seemed to enjoy themselves splendidly. Mr. P. M. Querry and wife have returned from Kansas. We are glad to say that they expect to remain with us now for a while. Quito a Dumber of the young folks gave Miss Eva Rayburn a pleasant surprise the other evening, it being lier birthday. All enjoyed a very pleasant time. The teachers of Gillam held their second Institute at Center School House Saturday, May 12.
