ODD OCCURRENCES.
A gang of tramps found an unoccupied bouse in Minnesota with comfortable beds, cooking utensils, and a stove. They took lawless possession, and it was not until the end of a week that they learned that they were in a small-pox pest house. A number of men were carousing in Candelaria, Nev., lately, when a doctor named Mart n interrupted the half-drunken revelty by assuming a grave tone, and telling his audience how be might become somebody if he could only conquer his mania fa drink, but how he had tried in vain. “Ah.” he said, “I’ll leave the world; but, boys, as a latt favor, let me d > so to the sound of mut-ic.” Hs friends summoned tome Italian musicians, and whi'e they played the doctor took morphine. He friends, who did not believe Martin was in earnest, gradually leit tue saloon, and the saloon-keeper, teeing him so to md a leep, locked up the nouse and retired. In the morning the doctor was found dead.
