Ohio state line, was visited by a very destructive fire last Friday evening. A large portion of the business part of the town was burned over. The damage is estimated at a quarter of a million dollars..

Oxford, also, is devoid of dash and will “shut up shop’’ so far as public schools are concerned, Business Changb.—The firm of lines & Meyers, the druggists, has ueased to be. Mr. Meyers, the junior partner, has bought the intire business. The invoicing was completed yesterday. Mr. lines is as yet, somewhat undecided as to his future-business and place of residence. He intends however to visit southern Nebraska within a week or two, with a view of settling there if the prospects appear favorable. Positively, without fail:—The plow exhibition, or test of draft, between the Gilpin Sulkey and walking plow, will take place ,on the farm of Simon Phillip#, on Saturday, May. 12th-, 1883,. at 1 o’clock, p. m., sharp.
