Railroad Taik.

The Louisville, New Albany & Chicago, Monday, opened the Chicago & Indianapolis division for through freight traffic - Last week only local business, between Indianapolis and Delphi, was handled. Our versatile friend Mr. Murray Kellar, general passenger agent of the L,. N-A. & C., has made another change in the time table of his road. The change only effects the North bound morning train which now passes Rensselaer 4:38 instead of 4:27 as before. Remember that The Republican’s time table is always correct and up to date. The Wabash people will have to look to their laurels on Michigan City business, as the Chicago &. Indianapolis Airline has six miles the advantage in distance between Michigan City and Indianapolis. Then the L, N-A. & C., which con-1 trols the Airline, is not exempt from the charge of being loose in rate matters, and the disbursing of patses when business can lie secured by so doing.—lndianapolis Journal.

The Lafayette people are again happy. Colonel Bennett FI. Young, president of the Louisville, New Albany & Chicago road, tolls them by letter that the question of location of the shops will be brought before the board of directors at a meeting, in New York, on the 9th of April next, when it will be definitely determined. Possibly Indianapolis will be the “dark horse” yet for these shops. The L. N-A. <fe C. people should do something in Indianapolis to impress Indianapolitaus that they are interested directly in the city’s weifare.-Ind-ianapolis Journal.
