HORACE E. JAMES. P.M. History of Jasper.—There called upon us Tuesday morning Messrs. J. H. Battle and Lloyd Girton, representing a party of four, who ire working up a project for writing and publishing in one volume j the history, biographical and historical, of the counties of Benton, Jasper, Newton and Warren. The book is to be published by F. A- Battey & Co., The above named gentlemen being in the employ of that firm. It seems to us that a history of these four counties if gotten up by competent parties, would be a ?most desirable work, and deserving of a liberal support. We have received the prospectus of the proposed history and will have more to say upon the subject hereafter.
