The business failure. —Mr. w; A. Lamson, the hardware dealer, has, we much regret to say, been unfortunate in hisTrasiness affairs, and, for *the present at least, his store is closed and in the possession of the sheriff. In just what condition his liabilities, assets and prospects of resuming business are is not yet fully known. A meeting of creditors was held yesterday, and next week we shall be able to give, more fully, the particulars. The Rev. J. J. Claypool, pastor of the M. E. Church, still contin_ ues his series of meetings. Mr. Claypool is making an heroic effort to arouse the languishing religious sentiments of the town, and deserves the hearty encouragement of all good people, and, above all, should receive the earnest co-ope-ration of the members of his own church, which last, we much regret to say, he does not, as yet, seem Jo have to any great extent
