The Wrong Kind of Emotion.

A laborer fell into an excavation and broke his leg, and among the orowd’that gathered was one who took it upon himself to convey the sad intelligence to the man’s wife. “Break the news as easy as you can,” groaned the victim, “for my wife is very emotional and may be completely upset.” The bearer of the message hurried on his way and in his excitement knocked at the door of the wrong house. It was opened by a woman who remarked that she didn’t want to buy anything, and she was closing it with a bang when the man protested: “Madame, I have a message for you.” “What is it?” “It isxn regard to your husb'and. Do not get excited, don’t be frightened, for it is only a trftlng accident. I came to announce to yo* that your husband has had a leg broW*,," “He has, eh? Bees*. :u his grave three’ years and had a leg treken, eh? Now, yon rascal, fly through that gate or I’ll break every bone in you, body!” She produced the hickory club necessary to keep her word, but the man flew. He wasn’t prepared for that kind of emotion. —Detroit Free Press.
