Dear Rebublican.— We wish to state for the benefit of your readers that Dr. Headley, the celebrated Speaker will lecture here on Thursday of this week. If any of your citizens want to treat themselves let them come over and hear him, or better still engage him to lecture in Rensselaer. Our yonng people are enjoying f the sleighing immensly. A party of twelve in one sleigh went to Wolcott last Sunday evening to hear Mr. Vance the pastor in charge of the M. E. Churches at this place and Wolcott. Mr. Vance is deservedly popular here among all denominations as the increased attendance at the church will testify. He is a' young man of energy and ability and we piedict a prosperous year for the church. Judgeing from the appearance of the three Dakotians now in Remington we are led to believe that the territory must have a salubriours climate as they all look remarkably bright and healthy. We refer to Mr. F. R. Donnelly, Mrs. W. B. Price and Mr. Loyd Kingsbury. They all appear to be highly pleased with their new homes end all predict a great future for Dakota. Our ladies are on the alert, preparing for the Christmas trees. The ladies having the tree at the M. E. Church in charge have had several meetings to make preparations and if the children enjoy the gifts as much the givers enjoy preparing them, they will be happy indeed. The lent meeting wte at Mrs O. B. Mclntyres, the next will be at Mrs. M. Solomons on next Monday evening.
