Hale Warner is having a stable built oh his lot on Forest Street. Dow Marion has built a neat and comfortable.dwelling on his farm three miles east of town. Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Perkins are attending the Butter and Egg Convention at Milwaukee this week. The Ladies Literary Society will meet at Mrs. W. T. Jones’ Saturday afternoon, Dec. 9th. Mrs, W. B. Price of St. Lawrence, Dakota, returned to Rensselaer Tuesday on a visit to her friends* here, and in Remington, Miss Ella D. Spangle, after a several months visit to her Jasper county frientfe, returned: to heir home at Clietopa, Kan., last Monday. The Misses Paris, Osborne, and Paris have removed from the rooms over Priest’s store into rooms in Mr. W bite’s hoase, formerly the Boroughs hoase. Judge Hammond is holding court in Fowler, This is the last week of the Dresent term of the Benton Circuit Court, S. P. Thompson returned Monday from Poughkeepsie, New York, whither he had been collecting evidence on an important law case, now pending in the VV hite circuit court. Miss May Washburn is at Williams, Colusa Co., Cal. She writes that her disease, Catarrh in the head, is less painful than it was here, and that she is well situated and well pleased with her surroundings. Mr. Joseph White, the new owner of the old Boroughs house, returned Monday from a protracted stay at Battle Creek, Mich., whither he had been for the good of his healthy We are glad to know that his stay there has proven beneficial. ?T'
