REMINGTON ITEMS.
Dear Republican.—A real gen-uine-taste of winter is upon us now. It has delayed its coining for a long time, having been a, warm beautiful fall. I Business seems brisk and it is hoped that the coming winter will be one us comfort and prosperity. I Two Christmas trees will gladen the hearts of the little people and make plenty of work for the hands of the elder ones. The Methodists, Presbyterians and Christians will unite aud have a tree and entertainment at the M, • E. Church Christmas night. The R. N. S. 8. will have a tree, time and place unknown to the writer. Cornelius Donnelly aged about thirty-four died suddenly in Michigan City about two weeks ago. He was a former residence of this place and many relatives and friends were shocked to hear of his unbmely fate, among them his aged parents to whom we all extend our sincere sympathy.
Late advices from Dakota inform us that Louis Kern and W-B. Price have formed a co-partner-ship in the wholesale produce, forwarding and commission business corner of State and Wisconsin streets Huron, Dakota. Many friend over this may wish the new firm abundant success. They are also engaged in bailing and shipping hay from that point. Mr. P. B. Lyon and Mr. Wm Bliss and their families formerly of this place are also living in Huron, and all are doing well. Miss Mamie Hollett of Kokomo, is visiting the family of her uncle J. E. Hollett. Mr. H. M. Babb, better known as father Babb, for years the proprietor of the Babb House in this place leaves on Wednesday for his new home in Tennessee, where we hope he may live and flourish like a green bay tree for many years to come. May the blessings of prosperity fall on all of them. Thomas Babb son of Mr. Samuel Babb, one of our best young men, left on Tuesday for New Tacoma, Washington T. where he expects to reside in the future.
