THE SEW SCHOOL HOUSE.

—The Hon. R. 8. D wigging lectured at Oxford last Sunday. —Mr. Haneen, of Chicego visited frienjf/ in Rensselaer Sunday. —Mr. Los Thompson returned to cdkge nt Ann Arbor yesterday. —Not less than 63 of our people took Advantage of the low rates to visit Chicago with the excursion last Saturday. Miss Viola Parrish, of Grand rapids, Mich., who has been visiting Miss Ora Thompson, returned home yesterday. —Our old friend, Mr. G, W. Allen, the former high school teacher here, now of Van Wert; Ohio, has lately married Miss Margaret Varty, also of Van Wert. Mr. Allen is held in very pleasant reccollection indeed in , Rensselaer, and good wishes for his future are universal. —Our county friends should remember that the demand for provisions next week in Rensselaer' well be enormous and we ailvise them, jf they have anything of an eatable character to sell;—butter, eggs, fruit, bacon, chickens, anything in fact—to bring it in early next week. —< _ We have not been able this week to make room for all the matter we wish to insert, and all of our correspondence, pur I report of the fair, and other important matters, will have to stand over until next week.

The contract; for the new school house was closed last Saturday. A man from Indianapolis is the contractor. The contract price for the finished building is $11,134. The foundation of the building will be laid this fall, and the walls erected in the Spring. The building is to be completed, ready for use by July 15th of next year. The school bonds will be issued in a short lime. The Home Dramatic Troupe will give two entertainments at the Opera House, for the benefit of McPherson Post G. A. R. They will be held on Sept. 27th and 28th, and on the 29th there will be a Camp Fire at Starrs Hall. Go every night! Go everybody!! Go!!!
