Weather cold and roads dusty. Most of the farmers are through plowing for wheat and some are casting their grain to reap a rich harvest in the future. - Unde Johnnie Lewis has been quite sick for some time past, but is getting better at present. The Independence Sabbath School was largely attended last Sabbath. The Superintendent C. W- Faris being absent ex- superintendent J. C.JConard was chosen for the ensuing year. Mr. Coward is a good man and is competent of filling the office. Gillam still has an attraction fox Mr. Tom Randal. The apple paring at Mr. Pullins , last Friday night was well attended and all enjoyed p lively time. Quite a number of the folks are l biding farewell to Gillam for the season. Viz. D. B. Coppess, C. W. Faris and D. G. Prevo have gone to Ladora to attend school. D. H. Guild and T. H. Querry started for Green Castle Monday. We hope they may be crowned with succebS for their industry. Mrs. J. C. Coward and daughter have gone to Ohio to visit friends. ? Miss Ida Mann and Miss Celia McCullough are expecting to visi! friends in Hamilton county soon Miss Cora Imes of Mdnticc.lo is visiting friends at this place. 1 P. R. Faris and J. D. Brown arattending the Pulaski county in stitute at Winamac. MiasAnnß Mann is learning the dressmaking vzith Mrs. Beard*4 Medaryville.
