GRAND RECEPTION

The excutive committee of the soldiers Reunion, heeded by Judge Hammond; Horace) E. James, detailed by McPherson Post /G. A. R.; Hon. Elisha E. Rockwood delegate of the County Board; Hon. J. H. Willey, delegate of the Town Board ;Chas. H. Price, Clerk; Ezra C. Nowels, Auditor; Dr. M. B. Alter, County Treasurer; James T. Abbett, Recorder; John W. Powell, sheriff; Messrs, W. J. Imes, B. F. Furguson and a number of other business men of Rensselaer. Oapt. Carson, of Remington; Dr. Spencer, of Monticello; M. H. Walkef, of Fowler; and others, waited on Diet. Geneial Sheridan last Saturday, and invited him to attend the soldiers reunion to be held here begining on the 27th. inst. The committee and delegates were kindly received by General Sheridan, and as ter|, a warm shake all round, an introductory speech by Judge Hammond, and a full consultation, General Sheridan said: “well I’ll go.
