CONFEREN NCE NOTES

The-Northwest Indiana conference held at Michigan City adjourned Monday Among the lists of appointments we notice the following: Rensselaer, J. J. Claypool; . Wolcott and Remington, W. H. • Vance; Medaryville. A. M. Osborn; . Goodland, H. N. Ogden. J. W. Loder has been sent to Pittsburg in the Frankfort district.

The annual conference of the Church of God for Northern Indiana, convened at the Christian Church in this place on Friday last. Ihe pieachers from abroad were, H. V. Reed, Geo. Gardner and J. F. Wilcox of Chicago, S. A. Chaplin of Plymouth, led. E. Barnhill of Argus, Ind. A. S. Carter, of Ligonier, Ind. Alfred Thomp son was elected presiding officer of the conference and Arthur Underwood was chosen secretary The principal conference Business done consisted in hearing reports from the different Churches in the Northern part-of the State Repors from twenty one congregations were received. The attendance was good, both by persons from abroad and our own jieople. We had not the pleasure of attending these meetings, owing to our absence from home, but we leern that the publie services were interesting and instructive. Steps were taken to raise the sum of one thousand dollars, to boexpemled in the proclamation of the Gospel within the State. Hon. R. S. Dwiggins wair granted a letter conferring trpdh him the title of “Elder” by the conference whifah gives him the privilege ot preaching, and also solemnizing innrria.ges. The young people' will please bear the latter pftst in mind.
