REPUBLICAN EDITORIAL EXCURSION.
The Republican vditorial excursion over the L., E. & W railroad leaves Lafayette at 7 a. M. on Friday, August 25, dining at Lima, and reaching Sandusky at 5 p. m., same day At Ba. m Saturday, the party sail for Lakeside, Put-in Bay, and the islands. The return will be a regular go-as-you-please, the railroad tickets being good for two weeks. For particulars address W. S. Lingle, president of rhe association, Lafayette. Senator Harrison and family have been invited to accompany the party. ExPresident Hayes and family will join the excursion at Fremont.— lndianapol.s Journal. A blacksmith named Anthony D. Brab*w was injustice Hutson's court Saturday charged with bigamy. It sees that be married Miss Margaret Burke,four years ago in Buffalo, but deserted her and came to Chicago. Last July be married a Miss Josephine Bislosky and took her to Rensselaer, Ind. A brother of his first wife beaiid of the second marriage aud had him arrested. ' A c/oar case was made out against the amorous blacksmith, and he was held to the Criminal Court in bonos of $2,000. In default he went to jail.— Chicago Inter-Ocean. Tne marriage of the above mentioned Brabaw to Miss Bisloskey took place in Rensselaer on July 24 th, last; Justice Wood performing the ceremony. Miss Bislosky was well know here, having been, at the time of her unfortunate marriage, a resident of Newton township in this county, where her parents now reside. Yesterday afternoon about 4 o’clock Alfred Dick, son of Mr. L. Dick, living on Washington street, discovered the dead body of an infant in the privy vault of the property tn which they live. The coroner was promptly notified, and an in quest is being held as we go to press. Suspicion points to a Mrs. Watson, who, Mr. D. testifies, stopped at his house ou Monday, and was very sick. The child was born living. The affairs does not seem to be shrouded in mystery, and the facts will be brought to light promptly.— Delphi Journal. * The democratic representative convention at Rose-lawn Saturday nominated Thos. Buswell, of Washington Tp. Newton county.
