CARD OF TMANKS.

Editor Republican.—Allow us through the columns of your paper to express to our many friends our heartfelt thanks for, their kindness , in our affliction in the* loss pf our little daughter Anna, and to assure them that their friendly efforts will ever be held in grateful remembrance. Frank J. Sears, Arabelle Sears. Mr. 0. F. Overacker has sold his interest in The Republican to his former partner, G. E. and has removed to Carson, > Pottawattamie county, lowa where be has purchased a thriving newspaper, the Carson Fairdealer; C arson >s a booming young town situated in the center of one of the ; finest agricultural regions in the state of lowa, or any other state. Its enterprising and public spirited , citizens recognize the fact that duty and interest alike require them to give a generous support: to their local paper, and the Fair- • dealer is therefore in a very flourish- • ing condition. Died.—At the residence of Zimri Dwiggins, in Oxford, Ind., at the age of 2 and'one half years, Anna E. daughter of Frank J. and Arabelle • Bears of Rensselaer. Last week we made a note of the departure of Mr. and Mrs. Sears for Watseka 111., on a visit.. On Sunday afternoon last while driving across the country from Watseka to Oxford, on tjieir way • back to Rensselaer, Anna was. taken sick in the carnage. At a distance of four miles from* Oxford her sickness became so serious . that the party stopped- at a farm house and called a doctor from (he town. On Monday morning the * child was taken to Mr. Dwiggins’ ’ residence in Oxford. where at : 9 o’clock a. m. she expired. The .< body was brought across the ooun- . try to Rensselaer the same day,; and was buried on Tuesday. The 1 funeral took place from . the residence at 2 o'clock p. m,. • The physicians pronounced-,t|ie - disease inflamation of the brain and . sfomach.
