And-Vkaait those “high privates and to whoni have they .expressed the deGire ,v «fbr«a*t? * Expressing- it as mildly a» passible, for politeness’ sake, we muSt b*g leave to inform our “esteemed contemporary” that we must, ask for some better authority than the Democratic Sentinel before we can believe that anyone has been deluded by the foolish and transparent twaddle of “A Jdopublican,” or of “A Marion Town*ihip Republican.” Nevertheless if it should be possible that any Republicans in Jasper county really oelieve there is any truth in the eftargee made by those irresponsible, anonymous and unrepublican scribblers, let them state in writing the questions they would have answered, and the charges they would have “disposed of,” and bring them to The Republican office like men, and questions and charges will be published and answers and explanations given.

And written by Mr. Harris and handed to our compositor, there was no date to the letter. The printer put the letter in type on Saturday, July 15, and through some inadvertency save that date to the letter.; and if sro. McEwen, or any of those very peculiar who have taken control of his paper, will call around to this office they may see Mr. Harris’ letter and be —convinced.
