A meeting will be held at the court in Rensselaer, at 7 P. a., on next Saturday, the 2nd mst., to make arrangements for the appropriate celebration of the approaching anniversary of onr Independence. / A full attendance is respectfully requested. John Makeever is building a small business room between his brick and F. ‘ . Babcock’s office, and David Nowels is building a small fiame between the whilom Austin house and v. right’s furniture store. Buu. Learning is now sole proprietor of the Tharp drug store. Bun is an enterprising young man and is deserving of success. Canary Bird Lost.— We will give a vear’s subscription of the Republican, and' the prayers of the editor, or the equivalent of the prayers in cash, to the person who will return to this office a dark male canary bird, a great pet, and a pretty singer. Lost about two months ago, and his owner wants him bad.
