Dan Lowry has excepted a position in Monticeilo. Dr. Maxwell, of Remington, mhde this office a pleasant call yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. 8. S. Barnes, of Fowler, visited friends in Rensselaer over Sunday. Mr. G. W. Hascall, of the Remington News, made us a pleasant call this w eek. Owing to the removal of the office the paper is late. It will be out on time hereafter. A lively run away in town Wednesday created considerable excite ment but did no damage wortnmenjtioning. The usual annual May Party will be held at Aiter’s Grove in Carpenter township. Next Saturday, May 27th. —■ Hand in your bids on ditch work by the 17th of June. Specifications furnished by Lewis S. Nichols, of Barkley, as candidates for commissioner, in this the*second district subject to the Republican Primary Election. They are both good men, and as they are the on1} names mentioned in connection with the position, in any event we will be sure of a good man. In the third district, Mr. Chris, 'rfensler declines to be a candidate, leaving the field alone to Mr. John Way mire for the nomination.
