F of treatment of the minor 1 ' accidents occurring daily in the household, and which, while not dangerous in themselves, are exceedingly annoying. Burns, bruises, scalds, sprains, etc., are principal among these troublesome and annoying occurences, and demand Immediate treatment with the best means at hand. In the kitchen, the dining-hall, the nursery and the sittingroom they are liable to happen, and, instead of fear and alarm at the sight of the cut or mashed finger, or bruised or burned arm, or scalded ‘ surface, a cool and quiet manner should be assumed, and after washing away the blood, (if required), the Injured parts should be dressed with that most valuable remedy—St. Jacobs Oil. Its surprisingly quick relief, its cleansing properties, its tendency to quickly remove all inflammation, and its wonderful efficacy in the above as well as in all muscular and other pains, such as rheumatism, neuralgia, toothache, headache, stiffness of the Joints, etc.,—these render St. Jacobs Oil pre-eminently the best external remedy now before the people; which claim is fully substantiated by the strongest kind of testimony from all classes of people. The value of human life is so supremely important that anything that tends to its prolongation is entitled to the highest consideration. Charles Nelson, Esq., proprietor Nelson House, Port Huron, Mich., says: “ I suffered so with, rheumatism that my arm withered, and physicians could not help me. I was in despair of my life, when some one advised me to try St. Jacobs Oil. Ididso.and. asifbymagic, xwas instantly relieved, and by the continued use of the Oil entirely cured. I thank heaven for having used this wonderful remedy, for it saved my life. It also cured my wife.”

A pitiful case was develdpedMasi week at Bayonne, N. J. Amoeg the many children sent to the railway to pick up bits of coal along the track was a son of Nathan Wilton, aged ten. While climbing between two cars he slipped, and his legs were crushed ipto a shapeless mass. He managed to drag himself out of the way, and when found asked those about him, “Do you think I will die?” Hoping to encourage the little fellow, he was told that he would not. At this a shade of sadness passed over his pallid face, and he murmured, “I would rather die than have to pick coal every day.” '
Dragging Pains
Dr. R. V. Pierce, Buffalo, N. Y.: Dfear Sir— My wife had suffered with “fema'e weaknesses” for nearly three years. Attimes she could hardly move, she had such dragging pains. We often saw you “Favorite Prescription” advertised, but supposed like most patent medicines it did not amount to any thing, but at last concluded to try a bottle, which she did. It made her lick at first, but it began to show its effects in a marked improvement, and two bottles cured her. Yours, etc., A. J. HUYCK, Deposit, N. Y. — i In Chicago, early Sunday morning, two men, named John A. Will and Thomas Kelly, met at the corner of Randolph and La Salle streets. A few words passed, when the former drew a revolver and shot the latter through the head, killing him instantly. Chili, according to a Washington special, has for an object in the war with Peru the annexation of Tarapaca, in which the guano and nitrate deposits are located. It now transpires that the prize is not nearly so valuable as anticipated. The town escaped with a loss of $5,0C0 on Birchada’s mill. Many persons will take no menicine until prostrated on a bed of sickness. This is folly. Nature always calls for assistance when needed to throw off impurities. With our habits of life, it is necessary to render this help. Prickly Ash Bitters will not force nature, but acts mildly and renders the assistance required. Try them. King Kalakaua’s chamberlain, C. H Judd, has reached New York from Europe.
