The Election.
I The election Monday passed ■off very quietly in Jasper county. ■Marion township elected Republican ticket by majorities ranging ■from 42 to 175. Porter for TrusKee received 62 majority over D. ■H. Yeoman; Wm. Warren for ■assessor 42 over Jas. Welsh pres■ent incumbent. I Hanging Grove elected full Republican ticket, by majorities panging from 3to 16. H. E. Parpinson is the trustee. I Barkley township elected Na■than Eldridge, Republican, for ■trustee; and the balance of the ■ticket mixed. ■ Walker township elected Wm. ■Meyers, Republican, trustee; and she balance of the ticket Demo■cratic. I Wheat field elects 1 Sehaffner, ■independent Republican, trustee, ■the remainder of the ticket mixed. ■ Kankakee township re-electe ■Thos. Jones, Democrat, trustee. ■Balance of the ticket not reported. 1 Keener township, of course ■elected a solid Republican ticket ■with Geo. Guild at the head for ■trustee. ■ Union township tied on trustee, ■and in casting lots, Cooper, Dem■ocrat, was the lucky man. The ■remainder of the ticket mixed. 1 Strong, Democrat, was elected ■trustee in Newton. Remainder ■of ticket mixed. I Jordan township elected A. J. ■Yeoman, Republican trustee, by 130 majority; the balance of the ■ticket is Greenback by 30 majority* Milroy is Democratic. I Gillam elects Republican ticket ■ with the exception of asssessor, ■ which was a tie and the Democrat ■ prc vtd the best man in gambling ■ lor jt. ■ Carpenter township elects a full ■ Republican ticket, with Jas. P. Ir- ■ win for trustee, by overwhelming I majorities. 1 A brute at Kokomo took a little I girl from her crib and outraged I her person in a terrible manner.
