Jordan Items.

Uncle Alf Hoi.ver save that the 100 head of cat lie shipped from Jordan, last week, by McCoy & Son, was the finest lot of cattle he ever saw in Jasper county. Our friend, I\Jr. Arthur Clinton, talks of moving to Texas the coming spring. Mr. Clinton is one of Jordan’s live cithiens, anil lie Mid be sadly missed if he leaves us. Mr. A. J. Calkins, Jordan’s only merchant, lias sold his farm to Mr, James Bullis, and will look up a location elsewhere.

We are informed that the good e tizens of Union Corners have organized a farmers’ alliance. A good working literary society at Lamson’s school-hottse is one oi the late organizatninn.—— We are pained to note that after a long mid painful illness, Mr. B. McCart died on Jfin. 18th. Cue of Jordan,s boy s, while intoxicated, was despoiled of one hundred and twenty dollars, one i i lit recently, by some of JUuisseiaer’s “gentlemen.” While we have, no desire to give gentlemen’s business gratuitous ndvertisii g or insult them, we do feel that m civilized communities a mild protest at least should bo made against

such conduct.
