Gillam Items.

Gillam is still alive and doing well. The two writing schools conducted by Messrs. Coppess and Faris are doing finely. J. F. Antrim, of Walker Tp., came over to Gillam last week to see if “My Dutch Girl” was still alive ; also to invite the Gillam and White post teachers over to institute at Hershman scbool-hou«e. Johnny Disher has returned home from lowa and is clearing his land down by Mr. Goldsberry’s. Wonder what is going to happen? Cal. Faris, of Marion, visited his parents (?) in this place a few days ago. Mrs. Sally Faris has returned to her home in Kansas after enjoying a pleasant visit with her many friends, in this place. John Rathfon, of Duncannon; Pa., visited his brother and family in Gillam last week. i / ' Mrs. R. Johnson died last veek of that dreaded disease, consumption. She leaves a husband and one child, who have our sympathy.
