NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN. That in pursuance of an order of the Board of Comraissioners made at the Regular December Sessioa, 1881, sealed proposals will be received until the thirty-first day of January, A. D.. 1882. for the erection of a Jail and Sheriff * Residence, on Lota Four (4)and Five (5)Jn Block Ten(lo),intne town of Rensselaer Jasper County,lndiana According to plans and specifications now on file for inspection and examination In the Auditor's office of. this county, all work to be completed by October Ist.' 1882. Bidi will be received for excavation and stone work.brick work, carpenter Work, and iron work (including cells) painting, lathing, and plas-. tering, sefiarately; also for the buildings completed ; the work to be paid for on estimates mada by superintendent at the end of each month, and seventy five per cent, of «uch estimate then paid, and when the whole work is completed in strict compliance witn the said plans and specifications to the satisfaction oi the Board of Commissioners and Superintendent, and all debts Incurred by contractor or contractors paid or satisfied, including labor aud material furnished, and for boarding laborers ; the residue of contract price shall be paid to the contractor or contractors. The contract or contracts will be let to the lowest responsible bidder; but no bid will 'be entertained unless the same is accompanied by a bond in ■ penalty of at least one-third of the cost of the work so bid for, signed by the bidder and st least two freehold sureties, residents within the State, guaranteeing the faithful performance of the work so Did for, in case the contract be awarded to such bidder, and if the contract be so awarded such bidder shall pay all the debts incurred by him in the prosecation of such work, including labor, materials, and for boarding laborers thereon Bids to be opened on the thirty-first day of January, A D., 1882, at 10 o’clock a. Since its reorganization. March 81, the Presbyterian Sabbath school has been prosperous. Seholais of other denominations, Methodist, Baptist and Christian, have assisted much in making it so, and we trust all will be* present at the Opera House, Christmas Eve.
