Into the River.

Bt. Louis, Mo., December 9. The eastern span of the immense trestle bridge of the North Missouri River Railroad over the Missouri river at Bt. Charles, Mo , gave way last evening under the weight of freiuht traiu No. 12, consisting of an engine, thirteen cars loaded with live stock, eighteen cars of dead freight and a caboose. The engine was the first to Jail, the cars plliDg on top of it. Three of the six men on the train when it started over the bridge accompanied the train on its wild leap of sixty-five feet into the river channei. That two of them escaped to tell of their awful experience seems a miracle. Five\of the s x are accounted for. and one is'missing—Jack Kirksley, the engineer—who stuck to nis post.
