Obituary.
Mrs.' Roselle Kerr, wife of Mr. John Kerr, near Newton, Fountain County, Ind.,, died Nov, 17th, 1881, aged 24 years, 3 months, and 1 day. She had been in poor health for some time, thongh she complained very little. She was a patient suffeter, yet for some weeks before her death her near friends could see that she was gradually wearing fcwfly. She suddenly grew worse some six or eight hours before she passed away. She retained full possession of her mental faculties unlil the last, though she was able to ooverse but very little. She asked to ~ see her babe of three months old ; gave it in charge to her mother, requesting her to care for it and raise it, and requested her uncle, I. M. Coen, to write her obituary. She, with her husband who is now so suddenly and unexpectedly bereaved, had just moved into their new and beautiful dwelling which they had erected th* 5 past summer, with high hopes.bnd fair prospects of a long and happy life. But death came and claimed the light of this new home, and with relentless hand took her away. What sad work death makes in this and all our homes. The funeral was largely attended. The sermon was preached by the Rev. J. W. Mann, from th 6 text, “Jesus Wept.” Deceased Was the daughte* of John and Sarah Coen, of Rensselaer, Jasper County, Ind. Her fathe?pmother and three sisters, who were all present at the funeral, survive her. She was a consistent and accept, ble member of the Presbyteriw church, of Newton, Ind. Her enu was peace; she sleeps in Jesus In accordance with her. dying request the hymns, “When shall Meet Again,” and “In The Sweet Bye And Bye;” were sung at her' funeral. “Yet again we hope to meet thee. When the day of life Is fled ; Then in Heaven, with Joy to greet theo, Where no farewell tear Is shed.”
